Negroamaro is the King of the Salento peninsula as it’s indigenous to the region. The name literally translates as ‘black and bitter’. On the palate, you get a hit of bitterness in the pure, dark chocolate sense, but the overall flavour is dry, not sweet. Think Ovaltinies. A structured, age-worthy red.
