An excellent selection of wine from some incredible wineries across Spain!

Ponte De Boga – Mencia and Godello

Winery: Ponte da Boga is the oldest winery in the Ribeira Sacra region of northwestern Spain, founded in 1898. They are famous for practicing what the wine world calls “heroic viticulture.” The vineyards are built on insanely steep terraces along river canyons. The slopes are so severe (some over a 30% grade) that no machinery can go there; workers must harvest entirely by hand using ladders, baskets, and sometimes literal safety harnesses!
Godello, a native white grape that hits the perfect sweet spot between crisp acidity and textured weight. Expect a brilliant greenish-yellow colour with vibrant aromas of green apple, lemon zest, fresh pear, and a lovely floral pop of jasmine. It’s clean, mineral-driven, and incredibly refreshing.
• Mencía is a fascinating grape. Many wine experts call it Spain’s answer to Pinot Noir or Loire Valley Cabernet Franc. It has a beautiful, deep cherry colour and serves up crunchy red fruits like wild cranberry, sour cherry, and rhubarb, layered with hints of black pepper, liquorice, and a distinct slate-like minerality. It’s racy, high-acid, and wonderfully refreshing.

Rioja Vega – Rioja Cosecha

Winery: Rioja Vega was founded in 1882, making it one of the founding pillars of Spain’s most famous wine region. Styled after a traditional Bordeaux château, they are so dedicated to quality control that they even operate their own cooperage to build and manage their wine barrels.
Wine: The term Cosecha means this is a young, fruit-forward wine designed to show off the fresh character of the grape. It’s packed with juicy blackcurrant, dark cherry, and red raspberry flavours, rounded out by just a quick kiss of oak that brings out subtle notes of liquorice. It is incredibly smooth, vibrant, and easy-drinking.

Neleman – Tinto

Winery: A gorgeous site that sits up above the east coast of Valencia, and right below a conservation area. Meticulous detail put into their wine, as you would when you’ve put so much work into keeping your vineyard healthy and free of any pesticides.

Wine: Bright aromas of fresh cherries, raspberries, and clean violets, balanced with touches of oak, leather, and fine tobacco. On the palate you’re greeted with juicy and full-bodied with core flavours of red berries, dark plum, and a subtle layer of earthy spice.

Jordi Miro – Grenache Blanc

Winery: Terra Alta, Catalonia. Jordi Miró is a small, family operated winery that loves to blend old-school traditions with a modern twist. Jordi focuses heavily on low-intervention, vegan-friendly winemaking, coaxing incredible depth out of local grapes grown on rugged, dry-farmed land.

Wine: Grenache Blanc (Garnacha Blanca) is known for being rich and mouth-filling. Jordi ferments about 10% of this wine in new French oak barrels and leaves the rest in stainless steel. This gives you a silky, smooth texture with notes of golden apple, ripe pear, and a hint of tropical mango, paired with a subtle, warming touch of baking spice and a pleasantly complex finish.

Quinta Couselo Valdamor – Albariño 2024

Winery: Quinta de Couselo is in the O Rosal subzone of Rías Baixas, right on the border where Spain meets Portugal along the Atlantic coast. This estate is absolutely steeped in history, with winemaking roots stretching all the way back to Cistercian monks in the 12th century.
Wine: This is Albariño at its absolute finest: electric, saline, and intensely fresh. The 2024 vintage has big aromatics of meyer lemon, white peach, and green apple, backed by a distinct note of sea spray and wet stones. Because it spends 6 months aging on its lees (spent yeast cells), it has a gorgeous, rounded texture that perfectly balances the crisp Atlantic snap.
