2023 Il Cattivo Sangiovese

Sourced from a single vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, destemmed whole berries were fermented on skins for 8 days to bring perfume as well as lovely long tannins. Aged in large format old French oak for 8 months.

Flavours range from morello cherry, cranberry, dried oregano and fresh thyme and even a hint of fresh fig on the palate.

Being a very cool, mild vintage, meant that the Il Cattivo Sangiovese is medium bodied with a muscular backbone of acidity and balanced savoury tannin.

Best consumed young, however will evolve over the next 5 years.
