Petit Verdot is a varietal that was traditionally used in Bordeaux blends but is starting to become a breakout star in its adopted home of the Barossa Valley in Australia. The Barossa is a bit sunnier than Bordeaux, which gives this grape the chance to fully ripen and create big, bold and brooding single varietal wines that have the potential to age gracefully for many years.
