Lost Buoy Fiano
Fiano is a variety originating in Italy’s Campania and now finding a natural home on the ancient geology and in the sea breezes of South Australia’s McLaren Vale.
A warm and dry 2016 season was finished by cool late rains allowing the fruit to reach ideal flavour, sweetness and acid balance at harvest. Minimal winemaking intervention, including inoculation with indigenous yeast, no added acid or use of oak, has ensured that this equilibrium has been captured in a flavoursome wine.
The 2016 Lost Buoy Sand & Pebbles Fiano is fresh and nutty with ginger and lemon aromas leading to creamy texture, fresh berry citrus characters and crisp tannins finish.
