Garzon Reserva Tannat
A juicy, full-bodied wine. Rich purple in colour with very fresh aromas reminiscent of red and black fruits such as plums and raspberries along with a delicate spicy nose. In the mouth, it is presented with a strong personality. Its mature tannins and minerality transform it into a wine with great soil identity.
For the production of this wine line, we select the terroir’s area where high-quality fruits ripen. After their manual harvesting, they are transported in crates of up to 15 kg for not damaging the grapes. They are taken to the winery’s hall where they are processed according to the traditional high-quality standards with cutting-edge equipment that facilitates the grain optical selection.
Fermentation is carefully carried out in big stainless-steel, concrete and oak barrels, the majority of which are not toasted. The use of “living” containers such as concrete and wood for the long-lasting ageing in barrels gives complexity to our wines. These containers are optimal for a proper maturation; concrete grants the development and preservation of indigenous microbiology and microorganisms, whereas wood allows wine to breathe, which is necessary for winery preservation.
Another way we use to attain complexity in Garzón Reserva wines is by adding different ripening points to the same grape variety and we assemble wines coming from oak barrels with wines coming from concrete tanks.
Tannat Reserva is a red wine that represents the emblematic Uruguayan variety and it has found its ideal terroir in Garzón. It is of a deeply intense purple colour with very fresh aromas reminding of red and black fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, together with a spiced delicate aroma. It has a great personality in mouth. Its ripe tannins and its minerality transform it into a terroir wine of great identity.
