Dievole - Broccato Toscana - 2011
"Dievole is one of those places that makes you want to pack up and move to the Italian countryside. The vineyard is flanked by forests full of truffles and wild boar and sits on a hill overlooking a medieval town that looks like a movie set. The Broccato is what they call a Super Tuscan meaning it's made with grapes not permitted in the DOCG. Even though it is technically classed as an IGT wine, it's one of the wineries top offerings. There's generous fruit with harmonious notes of cherry and raspberries, violet and lavender. It's complex and well-structured with a good acidity that enhances excellent flavours of red berries, herbal notes, coffee and vanilla spices. Gentle and elegant tannins with a good persistence.
Decant if possible."
